What to know before you go
Bali is the honeymoon we book most, and the reason is the mix: rice terraces and temples around Ubud, beach clubs and sunsets at Seminyak, a private-pool villa for a few nights, and a day of water sports at Nusa Dua or a boat to Nusa Penida. It also works for families who want a beach with things to do.
Flights go from Ahmedabad or Mumbai via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur; there is no direct service. Indian passport holders get a visa on arrival, which we prepare you for. Bali's traffic is real: Ubud to Uluwatu is two hours on a good day, so we split the stay rather than driving back and forth.
The Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu, the Tanah Lot sunset and the Tegalalang swing are the photographs everyone wants and they are all timed events; we book them in the right order so the days are not spent in the car.
