What to know before you go
Georgia is the country people book after they have seen a friend's photographs: a Tbilisi old town with balconies and sulphur baths, the Gergeti church at Kazbegi with the mountain behind it, Gudauri's ski slopes in winter, and wine country at Kakheti. It is a five-hour flight via Sharjah or Doha, and Indian passport holders apply for an e-visa online.
We run it as a five-night circuit from Tbilisi: two nights in the city, one in Kazbegi or Gudauri, one in Kakheti, and a day trip to Mtskheta on the way. Winter (December to March) is for snow and Gudauri; May to October is for green valleys and the Kazbegi road.
Vegetarian Georgian food exists and is good — khachapuri, lobio, pkhali — and we list it. Hotels are family-run and warm; the roads in winter need a driver who knows them, which is who we use.
