The short version
Canada is the country we file for most, across all three desks: visitor visas for parents joining children in Toronto, Brampton and Surrey; work permits tied to an employer’s Labour Market Impact Assessment or under an employer-specific stream; and permanent residence through Express Entry and the provincial nominee programmes. Each is a different file with different evidence, and the biggest mistake we see is a visitor application written as if it were a PR application. Applications are filed online through the IRCC portal with biometrics given at a VFS centre in Ahmedabad or Mumbai.
Who needs a visa
Indian passport holders need a visa for any visit to Canada — a temporary resident visa for tourism, family visits and business meetings. Working needs a work permit tied to an employer or an open-permit route; settling permanently is a separate immigration application (Express Entry or a provincial nomination). A US visa does not exempt you from a Canadian one.

Document checklist

Passport and photographs
- Passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, with two blank pages
- Previous passports, if any
- Recent photographs to the mission’s specification (size and background differ by country)
Proof of funds
- Personal bank statements for the last six months, stamped by the bank
- Income tax returns for the last three years
- Salary slips (employed) or business registration and GST returns (self-employed)
- Fixed deposits, property or other assets where relevant
Travel and stay
- Day-by-day itinerary
- Confirmed or refundable flight reservations
- Hotel confirmations, or an invitation and host details when staying with family
- Travel insurance for the full stay, where the country requires it
Ties to India
- Employment letter with approved leave dates, or business proof
- Property papers, family details and other evidence you will return
- For students: enrolment letter and a no-objection from the institution

The process
Step 1: Assessment
A counsellor reviews your purpose, history and documents and tells you plainly which stream fits and whether the file is worth making now.
Step 2: Document build
We prepare the checklist for your stream, review every document, and draft the cover letter and explanations for anything unusual in your history.
Step 3: Online filing
The application is created on the IRCC portal, forms completed and checked, fees paid, and the file submitted.
Step 4: Biometrics and medical
You give fingerprints and a photograph at a VFS centre (Ahmedabad or Mumbai) within 30 days, and complete a panel-physician medical where the stream requires it.
Step 5: Decision and passport
IRCC may request more documents or an interview. On approval you submit your passport for the visa counterfoil, or receive the port-of-entry letter for permits and PR.

Why Canada applications get refused

- Bank statements that do not support the trip cost, or large unexplained deposits shortly before applying
- Weak evidence of ties to India: no job letter, no business proof, no family or property details

Yes, on a visitor visa. Their enrolment letter, your relationship proof and your own finances and ties to India are the core of the file. Parents and grandparents of permanent residents may also look at the super visa, which allows longer stays and needs Canadian medical insurance.
No. Express Entry ranks candidates on age, education, language scores and work experience; a job offer or a provincial nomination adds points but is not required. Whether your profile is competitive in the current draws is the honest first conversation we have.
