Day by day

6 days, 5 nights. Every day below can move; this is the shape we start from.

Day 1
Arrive Srinagar, houseboat
Met at the airport and taken to a houseboat on Dal Lake. Afternoon shikara ride, evening on the deck. Dinner on board.
Day 2
Srinagar gardens and Shankaracharya
Nishat and Shalimar Mughal gardens, the Shankaracharya temple, and the tulip garden in April. Move to a hotel in the city for the night.
Day 3
Gulmarg day trip
Two hours to Gulmarg. Gondola phase one to Kongdoori, and phase two to Apharwat when open, with tickets pre-booked. Sledging in winter, pony rides in summer. Back to Srinagar.
Day 4
Srinagar to Pahalgam
Drive via the saffron fields of Pampore and Avantipora ruins. Afternoon at Betaab valley or Aru by local taxi. Night in Pahalgam.
Day 5
Pahalgam to Srinagar via Sonamarg
Chandanwari in the morning, then the drive to Sonamarg for the Thajiwas glacier pony ride, and back to Srinagar for the last night.
Day 6
Depart Srinagar
Morning at the floating vegetable market for early risers, then transfer to the airport.
