Day by day

7 days, 6 nights. Every day below can move; this is the shape we start from.

Day 1
Guwahati to Kaziranga
Kamakhya temple on arrival, then the drive to Kaziranga (five hours). Night at a resort by the park.
Day 2
Kaziranga safaris
Early elephant safari (limited seats, booked ahead) and an afternoon jeep safari in the central range for rhino, elephant and wild buffalo.
Day 3
Kaziranga to Shillong
A long drive (six to seven hours) with a stop at Umiam lake before Shillong. Evening at Police Bazar.
Day 4
Shillong to Cherrapunji
Elephant falls and Shillong Peak, then Cherrapunji: Nohkalikai falls, Mawsmai cave and the Seven Sisters viewpoint.
Day 5
Root bridges and Dawki
The Nongriat double-decker root bridge for the fit (3,000 steps each way); a gentler day at the Mawlynnong single root bridge for the rest. Dawki river and the Bangladesh border view.
Day 6
Cherrapunji to Guwahati
Return via Shillong to Guwahati (five hours). Evening Brahmaputra cruise.
Day 7
Depart Guwahati
Breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and a private transfer to the airport in good time for your flight home.
